Microclimate Study

Down load this PDF to see how I've laid out my improved microclimate study. I've added advice and relfections based on SQA level feedback in red script. Read through this carefully and think about how you can use it to structure your own answer. Remember, do not be tempted to simply copy... your results will not match the ones I have used. You will have to think about your explanations and then carefully put them together. The main areas to try to get absolutely correct first time are the introduction, methodology and graphs. The analysis section will be trickier however you should be able to follow this simple structure to score good marks.

Hydrology Study

Down load this PDF to see how I've laid out my improved Hydrology Study. I've added advice and relfections based on SQA level feedback in red script. Remember, do not be tempted to simply copy... your results will not match the ones I have used. You will have to think about your explanations and then carefully put them together. This seems to be the least popular choice however I believe it lends itself well to scoring quick and simple marks so have a read through and see what you think. Make sure you read throug all of the examples and make notes on any explanations you think you could use for your own hypotheses.

Dune Transect Study

Down load this PDF to see how I've laid out my Dune Study. This is a first attempt and hasn't been marked however I feel based on the standard set in the previous examples that it would certainly be awarded a 'High B' or better. I've added advice and relfections in red script. Read through the otehr examples as well as you may well be able to borrow explanations that you think are relevant to your hypotheses. Remember, do not be tempted to simply copy... your results will not match the ones I have used. You will have to think about your explanations and then carefully put them together. I've decided to focus on a vegetation/dune size based study as this is what most of you guys seem to have focussed upon. Those of you who have also included refereces to lcimate factors should make sure to reda the microclimate study example for ideas. Good luck!

Graph Building Help

I've made a graph builder spreadsheet. Click here for the most up-to-date version. The only graph which it can not make is the dune cross section which you will need to hand draw if you wish to do so. To save space you could combine you cross section with vegetation pie charts as demonstrated at the back of your Assignment Workbook.
